This is the time when an expected mother gets the feeling of excitement and anxiety for the coming baby. The body changes drastically and the changes occurred makes you feel vulnerable. As you carry large weight you become dependent on others to take care of you. During the trimester many pregnant ladies feel burst of energy, lot of excitement and they do preparations for the baby. The physical changes occur and the woman experiences backache with frequent leg cramps.
A dark line known as linea nigra becomes visible, from the naval and moving below. Due to Increase pressure on bladder there is slight leakage of urine when sneezed or coughed. Frequent urination, heartburn and painless contraction of uterus also, Itchy skin and stretch marks happen because of large abdomen.
During this period the fetus show rapid growth and changes in the fetus. Most of the organs are developed or on the verge of developing. By the seventh month the baby gains the weight of two and a half pounds and is almost 15 inches in length. The body grows and the head becomes in proportion with the body.
 With the start of eighth month the weight of the fetus grows up to five pounds and is 16 to 18 inches long. The fetus is most of the time asleep. The movements are fast. This is the time when the baby takes head down position getting ready to take birth.


The last month of pregnancy is the time when the fetus opens and closes the eyes, the fine hairy grown on the body lessens. The fetus responds to light, stores iron and builds skeleton. It nuzzles its head in the pelvic canal. You may feel that the fetus has changed its position causing increased pressure on the bladder.
